CLAIMS

The benefits of purchasing insurance come into sharp focus when a claim arises. Markel believes in a proactive approach to the management of claims for the benefit of its clients and has built its claims teams accordingly. The professional liability claims team is made up of insurance professionals experienced in the lines of business offered by the Division, seven of whom are legally qualified and all of whom have a detailed understanding of the risks faced by Markel's clients.

The team works closely with brokers and clients, both to minimise potential losses and manage claims effectively and cost efficiently, and to build that confidence which fosters long standing good relationships. They regularly meet clients with their brokers, and work in partnership with the underwriters to constantly develop a better understanding of our clients' needs, and make it a point of principle to be responsive, approachable and available for consultation.
