Markel International today announced the promotion of Mark Warrilow to head the crime book of business within Markel’s Specialty division.

Mark brings to the position over 26 years of experience in the London market having written financial institutions for the past 13 years.  He joined Markel in1997 and has been instrumental in the success of the financial institutions account.

1. Mark started his career in 1979 as a North American P&C broker with Stewart Wrightson Insurance Brokers before moving into underwriting with the Octavian Group in 1983. From there Mark moved within the group to write a Financial Institutions account for Syndicate 1049. In 1994 Mark joined the Ockham / ACE Group to work for Syndicate 546 which later merged with Syndicate 122. He re-joined the Octavian / Terra Nova Group (now Markel International) in August 1997 and has been underwriting the Financial Institution account since.
